“THE GOOD GUYS” - on FOX, Friday, October 1 at 9 PM

“The Good Guys” this Friday night is crazy as ever! The way it’s filmed is wild. It jumps from the present to maybe 2 minutes previous and then back again. It tells so much in a short amount of time, but you have to watch every minute. Dan Stark (Bradley Whitford) is the old-time cop who relies on his past experiences rather than do much actual work. But when he’s called upon, he always rises to the occasion. He drinks a lot which doesn’t help. He talks about his old partner all the time saying “Frank and me did blah, blah, blah.”

Jack Bailey (Colin Hanks) is the young, serious cop who is forced to be Dan’s partner. He is very naïve and earnest which makes it very amusing watching them try to do something together. Lieutenant Ana Ruiz (Diana Riva) and ADA Liz Traynor (Jenny Wade) round out the crew. Liz is a former girlfriend of Jack’s; Jack doesn’t agree with the “former” part. Lieutenant Ruiz is the leader of the bunch who once had a “thing” with Dan but doesn’t like to ever mention it.

Dan is so crazy and seems so stupid sometimes, but he always comes through with Jack. It’s fun to watch them get into huge messes and then get out, sometimes without even knowing how bad things really were.

So watch ‘The Good Guys” Friday night. It’s not some drama that takes a lot of thought. It’s a comedy that makes you laugh and feel good. My kind of show!
